The basic terms and actions a player can take blackjack are:

  • Stand: Means to take no action on the hand dealt by the dealer. No additional cards are wanted, and a player is using this exact hand to compete against the dealer.

  • Hit: Requesting to hit in blackjack, means the dealer will give the player another card and the value of the card goes towards to the total of previously dealt cards. A player would use this action to get closer to the total of 21 in hopes of beating the dealer.

When playing online blackjack, the cards a dealt by a digital dealer. The first step is opening the game, next a player must click on the chips they want to bet. The chips are displayed with wager values and will differ depending on the exact version of blackjack. Once wagers are in, a player receives two cards, and only 1 of the dealer's cards is displayed.
